menstruation question
hi, i am 25yrs old and after being on the pill for about 8 years - i came off it at the end of 2004, and have not had a period since.
now i know my body went through a lot as i suffered from anoriexia, for a short time, followed by bulimia for the most part, where my weight was at a normal, not too thin. Then when i came off the pill, i was at my heaviest (about 60kgs), for about a year, then i droppped about 5 kgs and then i finally beat both eating disorders and have been eating properly for about 14months now, maintaining a healthy weight, although have aonly been macro for about 4 months so am still learning about it. my question is i feel that by now, my menses should of come back and be regular, but there is still no sign of them. any ideas on why, and how i could remedy the situation. after speaking to a macro counceller early this year, i understand that my condition was extremely yin, but i have really cut back on extremes and eat a very belanced diet now. would be grateful for anyones advice/ help. thanks |

Re: menstruation question
I know you posted this several months ago, and I'm not sure how your condition is these days or if you are still on the diet, but I wanted to share with you a couple things good for the female reproductive organs:
Black Soybeans and Black Soybean Tea- they take what seems like forever to cook, (soak or dryroast first to speed this up) eat the beans and drink a small cup of the left over cooking liquid. Its great for female health. Also, if you could give your self a hip bath, using either dried daikon leaves simmered in a pot of water for 20-30 minutes, OR simmer a couple handfuls of arame seaweed with a handful of sea salt, and add to a bath you could soak in about 30 minutes. Keep yourself warm with a towel or robe on your top half and then go to bed after. And eating an umeboshi plum every other day is great to cleanse the blood and yang-ize a bit too. Not promising instant results, but adding these things to your routine certainly won't hurt! Hope you are doing well! Christin |

Hi,
Since this discussion site is paid for (but free for anyone to use) by the owner of Simply Natural Foods, maybe it behooves us to promote it's products a little when we can! To create links like the following: Black Soybeans , hip bath, arame, when entering text in the Reply to Thread message box, use the Insert Link (above the box) to create links to products, places, articles, people, etc on the Internet! Here's a thread that deals a lot with what you are talking about! Speaking of healing with the described recipes, do you have the book The Macrobiotic Path to Total Health: A Complete Guide to Preventing and Relieving More Than 200 Chronic Conditions and Disorders Naturally by Michio Kushi and Alex Jack? I have created a poll Read macrobiotic books or magazines? so we can better know each others macrobiotic libraries, recommend books, articles, and recipes to one another. Thank you, very much.
