Energy-giving Meal

Hello,

I have this daily, to give me some energy and promote an almost narcotic sense of well-being.

1 CUP dry short-grained organic brown rice
2 CUPS water
1 CUP organic baby leaved spinach
2 TBS wheat free spicy garlic tamari
1 TBS brewers yeast
1 TBS of tarragon
1 TBS pf fenugreek
1 CUP organic mushrooms
2 TBS of grain oil
2 CUPS of organic black tea steeped for 30 minutes.

COOKING: Boil the water, then add 1 CUP dry short-grained brown rice. Simmer for 20 minutes, then add chopped mushrooms, stir. Simmer for another 20 minutes. Stir, then add 1TBS Brewers yeast, 2TBS of wheat free spicy gralic tamari, 1TBS of tarragon, 1 TBS of fenugreek, 2TBS of grain oil, and 1 CUP of organi baby-leaved spinach. Sti until spinach is soft. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir. Eat. Serve with 2 CUPS of organic black tea steeped for 30 minutes.

Can serve one person or two.

DESSERT OPTIONS: 1 orange.

Write back to tell me what you think if you try it please. Take care everyone.
Manja.

Hey Manja,

Regretfully your recipe sounds too yin for me (kudos for sharing it!)

BUT I LOVE your monkeys dancing - put a huge smile on my face

and in my book, smiles count just as much as food!!!!

Hello.

Thanks for replying. You know, I can't really say that I am a macrobiotician. I am a strict vegetarian though. Could you tell me, and this IS a silly sounding question, considering the forum that I have chosen for conquest, what are Yin and Yang?

Meeleend,

I sure appreciate that you posted here as somehow I totally missed Manja's post, wow, over two years ago!!!

Manja, are you still here??

I am not a teacher and there is much much written in many books and on many mb sites on the terms yin and yang. To put it at its simplest, yin is expansive, upward energy and yang is contractive, downward energy - and all things are compared to each other so there is no such thing as pure yin or pure yang. If you are interested in macrobiotics, this subject will come up in your learning - as it is one of the major tools one uses in determining almost everything in their lives. Start getting some mb books, or find a teacher, or read articles on the computer - the more you learn (and practice) the more you will understand.
