Daikon Hip baths...leaves sold in ounces but

Answers in Bold provided by Dorcas Gerace

recipes always say " 4 to 5 bunches in 4 to 5 quarts of water" to make solution.

Could someone tell me in ounces instead of 'bunches'.
I don't know how much a bunch is. I need to know how many ounces to buy.

***Figure an ounce per bunch, so 4-5 oz

Also, how long should I stay in the bath?
Everyday? Every other day?
For two weeks?

***This will be in the info posted...

My goal is to dissolve the fibroid in my uterus. It is approximately the size of an orange.

**Herman suggested stopping bread also

Bruce, you still around?

Thanks!
Teri

Teri,

My guess is a "bunch" refers to the leaves that are attached to the daikon root top that are joined at that root top (when prepaing fresh daikon roots in the backyard at the East West Center For Macrobiotics in Los Angeles [Melrose at North Orange Grove] Bruce would slice the root a fraction of an inch from where the leaves join on each daikon and hang that "bunch" of daikon leaves straddling on a clothesline about 6 feet off the ground in a shady part of the yard, and would fill that clothes line with up to 90 bunches of daikon leaves to dry and then when the leaves turnd brown and brittle would grab several of those dried bunches and fill small quart sized paper bags with them that people came into Grain Country to buy.

So I would say that a bunch is that small group of dried leaves that attaches to one daikon root.

So when following the recipe of www.goodhealthinfo.net/mdr/home_remedies.htm Daikon Leaves try the recipe and see if that is strong enough.

Of course if you don't have the dried daikon leaves but wish to use them instead of arame or comfrey, you can buy them here www.simply-natural.biz/Hiba.php Yuuki "Hiba" Dried Daikon Leaves 1 oz.

Does that help?

Re: Daikon Hip baths...leaves sold in ounces but

Hi and thanks for posting. What I am trying to do is 'dissolve' a fibroid in my uterus. It's about the size of an orange and causes me no pain. I have found several sources to purchase the leaves but they are in plastic and who knows how much a bunch is when pulling them from the pkg. As for trying a recipe and seeing if it is strong enough....I am sure I wouldn't know whether it's strong enough. I don't have unlimited access to ultrasound so I would just do the prescribed number of baths and make an appointment with my OB. But I don't know how long to stay in the bath. I don't know if I'm supposed to do them every day until my exam comes up fibroid-less, or whether to do it three days on two days off or what or for how long...two weeks?... three months?...indefinately? I would like to know if I should use half of a 5 ounce package or one one-ounce pkg or what?

I would like to know who to contact to get all these details. At $6 per 5 oz pkg I wan't to know just exactly how much will do the job and how much is a waste.

Should the tincture look like coffee? iced tea? Put a quart in my bath? two pints? I can't find any of these specifics anywhere.

I know it sounds like alot of details but I don't want to waste my time, my money, or my hot water doing too little or too much.

Do you know these specific details? Do you know someone who does?

Is Bruce Paine still around?

Signed: Puzzled

;-)

Teri,

After several painful experiences here and at other sites, Bruce decided it was time for a change, do something more creative, and asked me to step in and post for him.

To help me answer your question, I contacted our good friend, Rosanna Martella, who is a sculptor, shiatsu therapist, macrobiotic teacher, counselor and cook (Please see Rosanna's Macrobiotic/Sufi Kitchen http://www.rosanna.com/ and her new discussion site: macrosy7 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/macrosy7/ ), and she says that you could use the whole package (notice that the directions say for one or two hip baths) http://www.simply-natural.biz/Hiba.php.

Rosanna says that the proof of it working is when you start discharging mucus.

Kristina Turner in her book, The Self-Healing Cookbook: A Macrobiotic Primer for Healing Body, Mind and Moods With Whole Natural Foods http://www.simply-natural.biz/Self-Healing-Cookbook.php to use a big handful of leaves (30-40) to a 1 - 2 gallon container of boiling water, simmer 15 minutes--until the water turns brown...and you can read the rest in your copy!

Bruce tells me that you can e-mail him if you wish, as he would be happy to hear from you, and wishes you the best health, happiness, and peace.

Be well!

Cool Dude

Re: Daikon Hip baths...leaves sold in ounces but

Just wanted to let you all know that Dorcas Gerace has been kind enough to provide a few answers to what Terri had asked, concerning how many ounces of leaves constitute a bunch etc. Look at the first post in this thread for that.

We are shortly going to be offering daikon leaves in larger sizes too.

Will update when available.

Gary

Another great book to find is "Macrobiotic Home Remedies" by Michio Kushi with Marc Van Cauwenberghe. Its not in print currently but you can find used copies online, but a new edition is supposedly coming out in the near future.
