Inari zushi

Does anyone know of a macrobiotic version of inari zushi? (Tofu pockets.)

It's hard to find those tofu pockets here that aren't swimming in sugar. I've made them anyway. I boil the tofu pockets or soak them in hot water to get out all the sugar. Then I stuff them with a vinegared brown rice and ginger mixture.

Yum!

My daughter adores inari.

eta: after boiling or soaking them, you need to drain and squeeze them really well.

Traditional inari zushi definitely has a sweet flavour, which comes from the white sugar added to both the rice and the tofu.

I'm basically looking for something with which to substitute the white sugar.
