Good source for the home cook?

My kids and I have to eat gluten-free, so I have to make all my convenience foods from scratch. For example, if my kids want chicken nuggets, I first have to bake the bread so I can grind it down for breadcrumbs. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen by suburban housewife standards, but not anything near what anyone here does. I enjoy cooking but it's been really hard on my back and feet. I have tile floors and just regular sneakers.

I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation on either a good supportive brand of sneakers, or a relatively inexpensive professional resource.

Thanks,

The best thing you can wear for standing log hours is not sneakers but CLOGS, as in the type that nurses & chefs wear. My husband is a chef & he prefers wooden soles, SIKA, I stand long hours in a photo studio & use dansko clogs, they sometimes turn my ankle because they are designed like Izusu troopers ( high tipping point).. I get mine on clearance at REI for $90 -but they are awesome for standing on tile/cement. Hope this helps, d

& I have another for you on your spice post, most spices you buy in containers are O-L-D , get spices from co-ops or grow yourself, or SPice hunter is good, stuff, I dont trust supermarket crap
