Re: low hemogloebin

I am also looking to the answers for these, and it surprises me that not a lot many people seem to be aware of this. Though this was not due to blood donation, my mom has been diagnosed having low hemoglobin and now she is on medications, but I sincerely would like to know the diets that can help her in replenishing the same.

Re: low hemogloebin

This would best be handled by a MD I think. One good resoursce is Dr. Sherry Rogers, MD.
I am not sure what low hemogloebin means, low red blood cells?? low serum meaning the fluid the cells float in? what?
Are other deficiencies present, like low magnesium ?
Another thing about blood tests is are they testing the serum or the red blood cells themselves. If they test the serum it may look like there is no deficiency when actually the body robs the needed minerals from blood cells to maintain the necessary nutrient level. So you need a red blood cell test rather than a serum blood test. I learned this from a Sherry Rogers book. Sherry herself is a macrobiotic and has studied with Kushi

Re: low hemogloebin

haemoglobin and abbreviated Hb, is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of the blood in vertebrates and other animals. low hemogloebin is a big problem specially for women. it may develop into anemia in future. If you have this problem you must consult a doctor.
