any quick yeast infection tricks?

Hey there macro community. I am suffering the result of overwork, emotional stress, and having eaten way more yeasted bread, sugar caffiene than usual. So now I have an infection. So far I have eaten rice, buckwheat lentils, and lots of vegg and grapefruit. I have taken a liver tea( which I also washed the insides out with added apple cider vin and acidofilus), ginger compress followed by daikon bath. Any more suggestions? Please hurry!! Lysia

Lysia...I got a home remedy of Boric Acid for yeast infections...basically you have to make your own capsules, but it works! There may be some vendors out there, but I made my own and it was no big deal. Here is a link for you to check out. http://www.mercola.com/2004/apr/7/yeast_infections.htm

Thanks Amy, actually I have been doing this. It does work, but I also what to get to the root of the problem and alkanalize my body so I am not so on the edge of getting it again. Anyone have dietary suggetions? And the boric acid does work because otherwise it is as if the flesh is getting eaten off. Sorry but all you men are lucky you do not have this typically. Lysia

Re: any quick yeast infection tricks?

Lysia...glad to hear you got some relief. I struggle with the systemic issues too, and it's just a constant battle. One thing that seems to help is colon cleansing that includes a thorough yeast cleanse (complete with die-off healing crisis reaction...first one was the worst for me). That kind of hits the "reset" button and then diet and acidophilous are more effective than when the system is overrun. Let me know if you need product info, because there are a few good ones out there. Naturally, getting rid of those acute symptoms is first, but the other stuff can be a real help to prevention. Take care. Amy

Re: any quick yeast infection tricks?

Amy, I do not understand what colon cleanse you did with die off? What?? I basically ate no flour and really good then boric acid and now acidophilous even more. If it is systemic what does that mean? I have taken ground flax seeds to cleanse my colon, along with grains. I wonder if yeast could be in my urinary system as I have to pee amillion times a day- even now that I eat no raw, very limited rice syrup, and more salty veg broths. I do drink tea some, dandelion roasted or twig, but not enough to warrent so much loss of liquid. Anyway maybe that is another issue. Thanks for the response. Lysia

Re: any quick yeast infection tricks?

Lysia...Yeast (Candida) is a persistent fungus that basically can take over your gut and you have to get it to die back significantly to notice a difference in your health. Starving it to death is a good idea, but that never worked for me since it can feed on anything that can become sugar in your system! There are many, many products out there for sale to help control candida. I have not personally tried them all , but I have used products from Healing America and I have a good friend who prefers the ones from ReNew Life. Either way, they will support your dietary choices (I'm impressed with your discipline!) and make your colon a healthier place for the "good" bacteria you want in there. I will send you a private email so I can forward you a couple things that will help you learn more about Candida. Amy

You're on the right track if you know you have to alkalize your system. Actually the term is a misnomer, the body's homeostasis keeps your pH balance correct but you need to make that easier by building your mineral reserves, and the best way to do that is with a lot of seaweeds. Use them in miso soup, eat them as side dishes, and cook your grains in kombu stock. Drink kombu tea also, with just a dash of tamari.

Eat millet more than other grains as it is the only alkalizing grain. Limit starch intake severely for a while and concentrate on leafy green vegetables like watercress, kale, collards, turnip and mustard greens, lightly cooked. Take ume extract. Other helpful supplements to kill off yeast include pau d'arco and capryllic acid.

Avoid dairy products like the plague, too, and take it easy on beans, use primarily black soy. Douche with salted bancha tea, about half the salinity of seawater. Make sure the salt you are using is not a refined one. (I prefer the French product called Lima salt.)

Last but not least, eat natto. I am a big fan of natto. It's one of the most healing foods around. It's easy to make at home once you get the hang of it, too, and much cheaper than buying ready-made. You can make a large amount and store it in the freezer in small packages and thaw as needed.
