Mara

I can admit that I am an incoragible romantic, because I see the universe as benevolant. not unlike the Romantic poets. The universe does not work against us but in fact is completely in our favor. We are part of it!

O Sensei of Aikido stated that-"all life is part of the spirit of God so how can there be any enemies--except yourself." No one can harm us as lethally as we can harm ourselves. We can be our own worst enemy.

The universe always renders balance (call it justice). If we are too much in the yin, the yang will persues us. If we are too much in the yang, the yin will persue us. Understand that yin and yang are always togther---never only one or the other. Yin and yang are not always in equal proportion however. When one or the other is prominent the direction of motion is toward the other. Everything we choose to do will have a consequence.

Balance is when our heart and our mind are 'one'---our yin and yang are 'one'.

You are correct--there is no pure romantic. The mind and heart are parts of the same whole. The mind and 'heart' must be as 'one'---ultimately. To focus on one or the other creates a deficit in the other, and consequently creates pressure toward the other.

Re: Are you a romantic?

I'm far from a pure romantic. I think that many of my actions are dictated by my heart, while other can be rationally thought out. I believe everyone must a have a little bit of both processes.

Talking Re: Are you a romantic?

Hi,

I've read a lot of replies to this question that sound like they were coming more from the head (intellectual) than from the heart (feelings).

I feel that I am very much a romantic because I am often feeling and in touch with those feelings!

That does not mean I am not intellectual, because I am very much an intellectual, also, but I am also a man of heart and I love sharing my heart with others, which I feel is the essence of romance.

Thank you, very much.

Bruce Paine
