What do you bring to work?

Tell us what you do for lunch at work. Do you always bring your own? Do you sometimes eat out? Do your colleagues think your eating habits are strange? Do you need to make a special "quick" lunch if you are on the go or a snack between meetings?

I work at home but when I do go out I make some sushi (no fish), some leftovers like cooked carrots with arame, pressed salad, saurkraut, hummus, One quick take out is crisp bread with sardines but that usually puts me a little out of balance.

Sounds like a really good system. Sushi without fish? Ive made brown rice sushi with tofu and veggie pieces, is that similar to what you make?

Re: What do you bring to work?

I bring brown rice & miso most days. I put some miso in a small container with a few cubes of tofu and some sea vegetables. Then at lunch, I just add hot water and pour it over the rice and it warms the rice.

I put vegetables in a soup thermos to keep warm. The sushi idea that was mentioned is another favorite.

My favorite is breakfast. I make a 7 grain porrage with a few nuts for flavor and eat that while I answer my morning emails.

Re: What do you bring to work?

well, to tell the truth, my mom prepares my lunch hahaha. But she always makes me something balanced, i mean meat with salad and a fruit. I not always finish my lunch at work cause there's no much time and there's only one microwave for 20 persons. So, sometimes i have to eat it cold

Wow, that poridge sounds hardcore, I'd love to make something like that mixed with some raisins and a lil rice syrup...

Re: What do you bring to work?

Hi, I eat very basic, fresh, raw vegies for lunch. My own salad. I make awesome wraps with very large collard green leaves. I throw in saurkraut, sunflower sprouts, sliced avocado, onions. Wrap it up like a burrito --- it is filling and great! If hungry, make 2. (I make a variety of my own fermented krauts - my fave is red cabbage and beets with onions.) Experiment with different combinations.
