Slow start - off and running

I have been slowly working mb into my life for the last few years. Yes, I'm slow at changing. I am still having trouble with a few areas, mainly cutting out dairy products.
I am having trouble balancing cooking meals for my family with the mb meals that I want. I'm feeling a bit like a short order cook. My biggest downfall seems to be cheese when I have it out to cook for the family.
I love and take for lunch the brown rice with chickpeas frequently now.

Hey, don't worry about going slow - unless you have a serious disease, just enjoy what you're doing, and whatever you're doing, keep it up.
Cooking for non-mb people is always quite a challenge, especially if you are tempted. Are they young?? Can they cook some things themselves? Are they willing to eat your way?? Give them mb options that might tempt them - it might be more difficult, but such a great feeling if your family goes along with you.
Regretfully, I have not succeeded in that area - but the way we work it out, is that my husband cooks the SAD foods, I just have to be diligent in not giving in to temptation. (which are less and less - but still not out entirely)
Try transitional foods for dairy to get off it - it's not a great idea in the long run, but for the short run, why not? Tofu is very versatile and is often used in a dairy like way - also combining tehina with soy sauce can create a dairy effect.
If you "must" have the dairy, try to cut back on the quantity, more and more till you'll find you're hardly eating it.
It's great you love rice with chickpeas - make sure you also have plenty of cooked veggies - and also do something a little different, so you also have variety.
Glad you're blogging.
