Hi everyone,
Do you guys know if the Morningstar veggie food is ok on the macro diet? I need some quickie type meals and snacks to keep on hand for busy days. Plus I LOVE them. I just wondered because it's all packaged and I worry about all the preservative junk that might be in them. |

what's your reason for choosing a macro diet as a way to eat? any food is okay if one is healthy and one knows how to make balance, using yin and yang. Morningstar Farms foods are refined rice, dairy products, egg whites, white sugar, some vegetables, and various additives, which is not recommended to persons following a healing macrobiotic diet. what is your state of health and do you know how to balance yin and yang? do you have any macrobiotic books and if so, which ones? Thank you, very much. Bruce Paine |

Re: Morningstar
minnifrid,
You mention you have those busy days - have you checked out Melanie Waxman's book for people who are busy and don't have time? “Eat Me Now! – Healthy Macrobiotic Recipes for Students and Busy People” by Melanie Brown Waxman Klara |

Re: Morningstar
I'm just trying to get some of the crap out of my diet. I figure if I even do it halfway that's better than what I was doing. The hardest thing for me is no dairy. All I can think about right now is cheese!
Thank for the suggestions. I am just starting but I do have a book, so I'm slowly getting the whole yin yang thing. |

Re: Morningstar
Minnifrid,
I truly believe going slow is the best way to create any change in your life - it's more likely to stick, as opposed to making a huge whirlwind of a change and then finding it to be too much to stick to. We all have our own challenges - whatever is hard to give up, try 1) eating less of it 2) eating more mb foods that have the quality you're enjoying and 3) trying new mb foods that help you create balance and bring new excitement into your diet. wow, the whole yin/yang thing is something that took me a LONG time to start figuring out so you're way ahead of the game. What's the book you're using? What have you enjoyed the most so far? and most important, do you have any real mb people around that you can share with??? Klara |
