Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

I can't help but to wonder if Trace Adkins daughter would greatly benefit from the macro diet. She has severe food allergies.
Maybe someone with more experience can educate him .

Question Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

nevrenson,

I imagine that Trace Adkins is not a member of this group nor involved in macrobiotics, so it might be far fetched to consider that he might try macrobiotics, unless you know him or how to contact him.

Do you have anyone in mind to educate him and do you want to be the liaison between Trace and that person, since you brought it up?

Thank you, very much.

Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

First , since I am quite new to macro I would like to know if eating macro would be helpful for someone with severe food allergies ?
I did some research and there is a way to contact ( via-email) Mr.Adkins organization. I just couldn't stop thinking about the little girl that goes through life being sick and afraid of losing her life to food .

Exclamation Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

The answer is, yes, macro would be useful to helping people with many different conditions including severe food allergies.

Do you have a copy of The Macrobiotic Path to Total Health:A Complete Guide to Preventing and Relieving More Than 200 Chronic Conditions and Disorders Naturally by Michio Kushi and Alex Jack?

I recommend that you get a copy from this site's bookstore if you wish, from a local bookstore or natural bookstore if that works for you, or from your local public library.

The book deals quite thoroughly with the topic of allergies (amongst other conditions and disorders), especially food allergies, and you might get a good hand on how to approach this problem and how to communicate how macrobiotics could help Trace's child when you are communicating with him or his people.

How are your husband and your brother doing, now?

Thank you, very much.

Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

How very hard that must be for you as the parent.

But you have given us no information on what your son does eat? on what you as a family eat? on what you know of mb, whom have you gone to, learned with.

this is NOT a diet or a quick fix at all - but I can understand wanting that to as to relieve the suffering. Did you look at the links that Bruce had posted to see if you can find someone near you to see your son and give very specific advice?

meanwhile, is he allergic to rice?? Perhaps start by giving him very very very soft rice (or rice cream if you are familiar with that?)? is he allergic to winter squash, it's sweet and delicious, cook simply with small amount of water and pinch of salt. It is such a special dish, doesn't need any fancying up.

Unhappy Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

Hello. My 3 year old son also has SEVERE allergies, also he has Eczema. My son has had his allergies/Eczema since he was just 3 weeks after his first set of shots as a baby. I have serious reasons to believe his health issues are due to the shots. Anyway, My sons case of allergies & Eczema are the WORST any of the DRS he has seen, have ever seen they say. My sons allergies are SO horrible that he is able to eat MAYBE 5 things, and even they are things he is allergic to, but they are the least of his allergies.

We have been to several DRS and none of them know what to do. My sons IgE levels are also way over 2000, close to 3000.

My son is allergic to EVERYTHING you can think of. We have had to rush him to the ER once, and had to call the EMS 2 other times besides that time. This is THE worst thing I’ve had to go through in my life, I feel horrible for my son. We are able to do so little with him due to his allergies, we are scared to take him anywhere because you never know what other people eat or touch before touching anything, it terrifies me! I am constantly watching every single little move he makes, and constantly follow him around to make sure he doesnt get into something that could seriously make him ill or kill him. Some people think I’m crazy and tell me I need to let him be a kid and to let him go a little, but it’s obvious they don’t understand how serious this is. Needless to say my son doesn’t get the chance to have a normal childhood like every other little boy and girl, it makes me sadder than I could even explain. Even sitting here typing this, I don’t feel I can even come close to explaining how bad my sons case of allergies is.

Just to give you an idea, here is a few of his allergies;

Peanuts, milk of all types, soy, fish [except white], all seafood, apples, bananas, apricots, bell peppers, red peppers, orange/yellow peppers, grapes, strawberries, carrots, green beans, gluten, peas, peaches, pears, turkey, pork, chicken, deer meat, corn, kidney beans, wheat, rice, oats, potatos, sweet potatos, watermelon, dogs, and the list goes on and on

Out of these my son eats the things he is least allergic to, Turkey products, bell peppers, watermelon on occasion, pears on occasion, white fish, occasionally sweet potato, and for treats I bought a snow cone machine, and make him snow cones with just frozen water & sugar.

We have to carry an epipen everywhere we go, even if its just to the park. I have also had an incident where 1 of the drs “on call nurses” gave my son a perscription for a regular epipen, mind you my son is 3 years old and weighs 31lbs, and can only have epipen-jr if I ended up giving my son an injection from the regular epipen he would have DIED, his heart wouldn’t be able to handle it. I am glad that I read everything, and figured out the math for the dosage. I called the dr right away, and was told my sons DR didn’t write the prescription, that it was an on call dr who did… I said to them ” so the on call dr can write a prescription and sign the DRS name?” they then told me it wasn’t the DRS signature, I responded with “yes, it is his signature, I am looking at another prescription I had received from him and it is the SAME exact sig” we went round and round about that, and finally they put the someone else on the phone and I was finally told that it was the dr, and they made a huge mistake, and they would have the dr call me right away, so needless to say they were trying to save their behinds! I was so upset about this!!

I am so glad they have passed a bill of rights for this. I can’t wait to see where they go with this, and I can’t wait to get some REAL help for my son!!!

Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

I don't quite understand. Firstly, I'm sorry I can't address you by name. Secondly, have you already read carefully all the posts in this thread? Have you tried any of the suggestions?

Your list of foods says clearly that it's not coming from a macrobiotic perspective - not with all the meats and sugar.

I concur that all this tragic results could have come from shots - otoh, if you are posting on a macrobiotic site, are you seriously interested in looking for a solution through macrobiotics??

If so, then as you go to your doctor for help (and it doesn't look like you've gotten much from them, except more problems!!!) then PLEASE seriously think of trying to find a good mb counselor in your area (or even if you have to travel - at least consider yourself lucky in that your child "is healthy enough" that he can travel). In serious cases, it is best to get advice first from someone with alot of mb experience (especially with children), and second from someone who can do oriental diagnosis and that is best by doing it in person.

In the meanwhile if you are serious of trying "everything" then please do go back to the post by Bruce and read those sources.

The best of luck -

Klara

Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

The Adkins family attended FAAN Kids' Congress on Capitol Hill in 2005 and, most recently, got support from U.S. Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker for the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act (S.1232), bringing bipartisan support to the bill. If passed, the bill will provide schools across the country with uniform guidance on how to create appropriate management and emergency plans for children with food allergies.

Re: Trace Adkins daughter's food allergy

I suppose there are people happy about that.

I'm not one of them.

Rather I'm more for preventing all the nonsense to start with!!!! not to try to catch the horse after it's ran out of the barn (is that the expression??).

But rather to support what Christina Pirello is doing - Christina Pirello Health Education Initiative - to spread the word in the education system of what the kids should be eating not to get sick in the first place.

The future of society truly does depend on our kids - and I guess what they believe depends alot on us. So wherever people can learn about the connection of what they eat and how they feel can be made, I'm all for that.
