food obsessions

I feel I need to give up macrobio†ics. i am either doing well (thinking i am "taking care of myself") and cooking a lot, isolating in the process, or nursing myself back to health from binging on un-macro foods. i have associated taking care with cooking, when i am recvoering from anorexia and bulimia and told that they must e separate. that taking care of myself needs to be being in the world, functioning as a human being. i am struggling †o practice macrobiotics and keep a social life. i am seriously obsessed with food and health. i don't want to be, though not sure how to change. any advice welcome!

Re: food obsessions

Try taking a yoga class--any kind. Yoga helps with food obsessions and will get you interactive with others who try to eat consciously (in one way or another). It will also help to heal your body! Try different classes if you don't find the class that's right for you. Also, I find eating and living macro is more about how much I can incorporate rather than what I should avoid. I still eat bad stuff sometimes--but I try not to let it get in the way of eating well (macro) when I can. Much love,

Re: food obsessions

I took some yoga years ago and have been thinking alot about it lately. I plan to be in Philadelphia in about a week just for a short stay and would love to either get together with the yoga nut and get turned on with some yoga together - and in exchange, I can treat you to good food as I've been getting good at cooking on the road.

I realize what's greatly lacking in my life is doing conscious things with my body and I think I'm ready for it.
