Macrobiotics & Managing Stress
I am now 6 weeks in. Hit a slight blip for my birthday, but generally doing great. I am really surprised how eating this way is assisting me in managing my stress. I feel so clear. In fact, I almost feel clairvoyant.
I was embroiled in a work situation, and there was screaming indications of lack of respect for my time, poor ethics, and lack of feedback on progress. They delayed paying due to accountant on holidays, mis placing invoices, requesting resends, it just went on and on. There were major holes in the project and they were only exposed when you were about to have to tackle them. I felt something to be seriously wrong. I was able to look through everything and see the end result if I continued. I jumped ship. Another girl did as well, but she is fighting them, and she just got slaughtered. Told she was incompetent, everything.... Just like I suspected they would do. Is this almost "clairvoyant" feeling normal, or am I getting wierd? |

Re: Macrobiotics & Managing Stress
Definitely you're giving honor to your intuition!!!!! It's something that truly comes from your doing the mb way very purely. And what a wonderful inspiration for the rest of us to get stronger in our practice.

Good for you : ) I think for me managing stress through MB's brings this to mind that I believe sometimes we forget...its HUMOR! I think sometimes we get wrapped up in the food aspect and forget about how short life really is. Humor is by far one of the greatest ingredients in managing our stress levels. Its actually an interesting phenomenon. How many people do we see "using" nervous laughter? Using it that way only hurts us just like anything else...even humor can hurt. The thing is nervous laughter probably comes to us because deep down we know humor has it's place...it's just in that case we're not placing it very well. Humor can be a poweful tool. It allows us to break down boundries between people. Its a common form of communication when used in balance with the situation at hand can find the satisfaction both sides are really after. While you don't want to use it to "laugh things off" you do want to use it to communicate in a positive way. It's also a good baromter in seeing how we do or don't relate with others. Sometimes it IS just good to walk away. Kinda like walking twenty miles for an organic onion or cross the street to buy the ones they sell that aren't organic. Sometimes that just makes more sense. One of the many reasons I got into MB's was because humor is a part of it all....unlike "diets". Also...I'd like to add that "passion" is something that helps us reduce stress. Not obsessing but becoming passionate about all that we do, Omega: Video Being passionate gives us true meaning and true meaning is the root to good health IMO.

Re: Macrobiotics & Managing Stress
Macro Girl
I feel painful empathy with your described scenario. The business world seems to be glued together by stress. Business is for "making" money. Money is supposed to be a medium for the exchange of values. "My best time and effort for yours". This should be as holly an exchange as making love. This does not seem to be the rule, but more like a rare and allusive exception. Your intuition about your situation is to be applauded. It is a sign of your connecting more to your own yang. Our culture is losing its yang, because people are losing their own core yang. The yang is on the outside now as expressed with BIG buildings, cars, houses and debt, etc., as opposed to being on the inside, in each of our own cores, as would be expressed by integrity, honor, honesty and respect, etc. Money in the form of paper "promises to pay" notes have become a yangless end in themselves, rather than a means to an end, and reflection of substantial value. The yin and yang have become dis-integrated. This is the realm of sickness and disease. People generally seem to pursue money pathologically in order to compensate for the inherent yang missing at their own core. This makes relating to certain others difficult if not dangerous, without losing one's own best self. Your own growing intuition as fortified by this food could be your own best defense and salvation. It is a joy to witness your discovery! I normally have a free flowing humor and agree with Andy that humor is great medicine. The subject of money however taxes it, for me, to the point of depletion. There is little that is funny about the undermining of values that reach into the deepest center of our own cores. Makes life far less than the celebration it should be. Two blonds (Scandinavian gentlemen) walked into the Federal Reserve Bank building while talking. One could expect that a least one of them would have seen it! Good job Manymoons |
