Hi,
does anyone have any reliable information about vitamin B12 and it's vegan sources? The idea of taking it as a food supplement is not very appealing - actually, it goes against the principles of MB, if I understand them at all. If we don't naturally get it in the vegan macrobiotic diet, then I don't know if that is a natural way to eat. Which is what I thought and liked about it... In an older book of H. Aihara (Basic Macrobiotics) I've read vitamin B12 is present in fermented soy foods (miso, tempeh), but the Vegan (!) Society claims there are no reliable sources of it in plants... I guess I'd rather have some high quality, organic etc. dairy product once a week than eat tablets like in an old SF vision of future... Any ideas, suggestions, solutions? Thanks a lot! http://www.cybermacro.com/forum/imag...lies/thanx.gif ![]() I'm beginning to think of the vitamin as a hoax ![]() |

Re: vitamin B12
As a fellow vegan MB, I know how hard it is to find good B12 sources.
Try green leafy veggies and lots of legumes.Personally, I sometimes take a b12 supplement just for that extra boost. |
