need help
i've been on MB for three years.i'm a strict vegan.i had anorexia, but now i enjoy food and feel better, but still i count callories rather than making sure if there's a right proportion of food in the meal.and i've just lost interest.i cook very simply.i mean,i eat different kinds of food, but it's more or less the same thing every day.i prepare food so quickly and without love.every day the same recepies but with different ingreediens.i don't feel like cooking something special after a long day at work.i don't eat anything at work.cooking became boring and exhausting for me.i've also noticed that i've started buying food that can be easily and quickly prepared or already made food.maybe it has to do something with my weight gain(30 pounds).it's frustrating.i eat healthy,i do sports-and i've gained weight?!how?!i also feel bloaded and have gasses(how embarassing).i've noticed that i look really pale lately.i'm almost always hungry and thirsty.
what is happening to me?how can i solve this problems? i wanna know can MB be really this simple? am i getting all vitamins and so on from this kind of,let's call it "fast MB food"? |

Re: need help
Hi Shoyu,
I think that I can relate to some of the things you are saying. I have been macro for about the same time as you. When I first started cooking, I used to cook a full meal every day. It was really stressful because I had a time limit because I had work and school. It was very stressful and sometimes I felt like throwing my food out the window in frustration. I guess I was not putting good energy into the food. I feel that the stress and frustration that I was feeling was limiting my body from accepting the food and healing. Another problem that I had was thinking about food and macrobiotics all the time. It was like planning my meals, planning to eat at regular times, balancing my meals, chewing, then reading macro books. I think it became overwhelming. So now I changed how I practice macrobiotics. Now I cook a full meal for myself every other day. I eat fresh food the first day, then left overs the second day. This allows you a break in cooking every other day. Then you can put more effort into making a complete meal because you will have less stress and more energy. Maybe cooking every 2 days if you are really busy, but that is kind of pushing it. Doing this alows you to relax more and not worry about your food as much. You then would have time to do other things in life. I think that another problem is that you are practicing macrobiotics in a forceful way. This causes tension and stress in your body. Probably thinking to much too. When you feel this, nothing is enjoyable. It is also hard for your body to accept the food you are eating because of the tension in your stomach, mind, ect. You are blocking your body from accepting the bennefits of the natural food. I used to feel very tense while practicing macrobiotics, but I kind of relaxed more now. Thats why it is good not to worry about food all the time. It's just a part of your life amoung many other things. Thats why I like cooking every other day. I make my meal, then I don't have to worry the next day. I can relax. Plus you shouldn't worry too much while eating. Try to clear your mind and relax (stop thinking, worrying). You probably will feel much better after you eat and your body will balance itself out. Other things to try are adding more varity and trying different recipes, leaving time for things you enjoy, and excersise. Sincerely, Snoopybd7 |
