Diet #7
Greetings All!
I just joined this forum and this is my first post. I studied Macrobiotics and was a follower for many years when I lived in San Francisco and after I came to Japan as well. I am returning to the fold, as it were, because I am dealing with a direly serious health problem. My system was poisoned by taking fluoroquinolone antibiotics on two occasions last year. Even months later now, the adverse side effects still continue (tendinitis in both shoulders, floaters in both eyes, tinnitis, etc.). I am now doing a 7-day cleansing fast using lemonade, maple syrup, psyllium seed, and bentonite. When I finish next week I plan to do on the famous (infamous?) Ohsawa Diet #7. I am doing it purely for cleansing/detox purposes. I need some advice. I have a shelf full of books on MB, but surprisingly there is almostt nothing about #7. I ordered Françoise Rivière's book on #7, but it hasn't come yet. My recollection is that that diet consists of brown rice (whole or as porridge=okayu), gomashio, and twig tea (kukicha). The recommended time frame is 7-10 days. Is this more or less accurate? If anyone has done this diet before or has any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them. I plan to start it next Tuesday. After that I will gradually shift over to more standard MB fare. Bill |
