Re: CyberMacro's Brand New Store for Macrobiotic Products

Gary,

My order arrived and you can't imagine the thrill I feel. For all of you lucky enough to be living in the States, this shop is such a special place. Not only do you get products that are not always easy to find, but there's a wide selection, and what works well for me, having products in larger amounts (and saving money because of it). But because I don't live in the States, I waited until a friend was moving here and I could have the order shipped in his lift - these are things that I can't even find here. I feel so fortunate.

and my worries that something would break - no way. You did an amazing job of packing everything so well protected.

I am planning to come visit the States in a couple of weeks and look forward to making another order, this time not of luxurious items, but just the daily rice and wonderful things like that so I can cook food for myself while I am there. After yesterday's eye opening chat with David Briscoe on acid/alkaline, I also am interested in learning more through his e-course that you are offering. This will be something very new for me, I've never had an e-course before.

And I hope Ilanit's book will be in - I always come back from the States with more mb cookbooks. Sometimes I miss living there :<(

Btw, anybody on this list live in Las Vegas - I'll be situated there for two weeks, would love to meet other mb people.

Klara

"Please note that we do not ship out of the USA, but you can download Macrobiotics Today Magazine even if you reside outside the US"
it is a shame... are nt we MAKRO thinkers??
Why only limit to one country??

Re: CyberMacro's Brand New Store for Macrobiotic Products

Gee,

Every front has its back. Gary I know has worked very hard to create both this site and the store. At least all of us all over the world can take an amazing amount of wealth from this site, and also enjoy the products from the store than can be downloaded (the Macrobiotics Today magazine, e-courses). And as I had posted, in today's world, where so many travel, there are possible solutions with friends coming and going.

Exporting and Importing are very complicated businesses - I know - we've tried, which doesn't mean we will give up, but that there are great challenges for those involved in the business. otoh, we need to learn to take advantage of what is local. For myself personally, I am trying to spread the growing of kale here - it's not commonly known, and amongst the mb community, very much missed and loved. There are now a few commercial growers growing it and selling it. In the ladder of commercialism, I don't even want to climb aboard (personal reasons) but I have been trying to find other gardeners, home gardeners like me, and those growing on a larger scale, and spreading those seedlings and seeds that have grown in my small area.

In our community, we have a health food store that is trying to spread out - on a personal level they are able to purchase such products as koji, and have been preparing amasake for the community. That also is one small step.

We also have people in the area that produce tofu, and tempeh.

If you read stories of Michio's beginnnings, they were also difficult - but he preservered. He realized how crucial his work was. And look how it has developed!!!!!

Gee, I see you live in Thailand. Was it to you I already posted about my good friend David Nissim? He has dreams of one day realizing a huge macro centre, to attract people from all over the world. You can reach him at d_cameleon@hotmail.com. He's coming to visit Israel soon and I'll ask how his dream is going. In the meanwhile, I'll ask him where he gets all his macro products. What I do know is that he has shared with us that Thailand has an amazing choice of greens and people, at least in his village, eat very fresh, cook new every day.

Hi Klara
thx for your comment
I know sometimes it is hard: I had a healthfood store back in the end 70s,
but I thought now with the internet there should not be any problems;
I ordered a perfect pickler from the US and I got it in a week,
so why not with miso??
Sometimes I have friends over from Belgium and then they get me some miso from the healthfood store; they only thing I miss here is the easiness of shopping fermented products
Me too I try to spread the word: I deliver sourdough to a Chinese lady here who has a commercial backery and wants to try something "new", and end next year I have to cook for 6 months macrobiotic on a meditation camp on one of the southern islands; but we will need a lot more "missionaries" before things take of here hahaha.
MB greetings to all of you and keep up the good work!!
gee
