Lightbulb Introducing Dr. Ron Paul

In recent times the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights have come under heavy attack by the Bush administration.

"Only with the complicity of Congress have we become a nation of pre-emptive war, secret military tribunals, torture, rejection of habeas corpus, warrantless searches, undue government secrecy, extraordinary renditions, and uncontrollable spying on the American people."

The above is a quote from Congressman Ron Paul of Texas, a candidate for the 2008 presidential election on the Republican ticket. I've studied his background and voting record, and I agree with many others that he is "Founding Father" material. If you're unfamiliar with his work, a good introduction is this video. There is also a text version of the speech.

In the past I know that Michio has supported Dennis Kucinich, an anti-war Democrat. Unfortunately Kucinich has very little chance of winning the Democratic nomination. If Ron Paul gets the Republican nomination, I doubt that a Democratic candidate can beat him. Many Democrats will be changing party affiliation to vote for Ron Paul in the primary.

Dr. Paul (an M.D.) has a lot of grassroots support and it is growing by the day. He needs all the help he can get, as he receives all but a tiny fraction of campaign contributions from private individuals. Unlike Kucinich he does not reject corporate support when he can get it - which is not often.

I've been in contact with Phiya Kushi who has replied that he wasn't aware of Dr. Paul and thinks he would make a fine candidate based on the introductory video he watched.

If the Republican Party is ever going to have a chance to win in 2008, it will need a candidate who will repudiate, not extend, President Bush's legacy of war, corruption and profligacy. Congressman Ron Paul, R-Texas, is that man. More than just a grin and a sound bite, Paul is a man of deep convictions. He is one of the few nationally prominent Republicans who had the courage to oppose the Iraq war and the administration's ongoing assault on personal freedom.

Ron Paul is one of the few public officials at the national level who understands why the Federal Reserve system must go and why we need to return to the gold standard. As president, he would use the Constitution itself as a yardstick to determine whether a bill shall be signed or vetoed. If nominated by the GOP, he will return the party to its small government, more freedom roots. If Ron Paul is elected, we Americans can once again say with a straight face, "We live in the greatest and freest nation on Earth!"

Please support Ron Paul for President!

Re: Introducing Dr. Ron Paul

A long-time macrobiotic friend just emailed me regarding Ron Paul. I quote his comments, in part, below:

There may have been a day long ago when a legitimate debate was possible in the arena of politics as usual. Now, after hearing hours upon hours of exhaustive investigative reports on the true nature of our extremely unusual times, I am fully convinced that both political parties are a hundred percent co-opted by a systematic program to destroy the United States. More exactly, to destroy God-based government, as opposed to human-based. I think the Democrat party is 100% communist, and most involved haven't the slightest idea what has happened. Both parties are wholly owned and operated by the "New World Order", and the players within are like fish in a bowl content to do their usual thing as if out in the lakes and streams. Both will get absolutely nowhere but where people such as Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands etc etc etc want them to go. They haven't the foggiest!!!

How I have arrived at this conclusion is not so quick to explain. But it draws forth a phrase that has now become a favorite: COMPLEXITY IS THE FRIEND OF EVIL. We cannot escape the fact that our true situation would take long study and discussion to explain, and that fact tips the balance in favor of whatever catchy simplification the ignorant or the clever-but-evil folks care to flash at our populace. Complexity is not evil or abnormal. It is merely a shadow behind which evil operates very very well.

What if we were to really comprehend the facts so clearly set forth by Aaron Russo? That we now have no rights at all. Those last printed phrases in "America: Freedom to Fascism". Someone better sit Michio Kushi down down with that movie.

The great danger is that the impeachment or whatever happens to get Bush out will shoe in the Dems with the most wicked schemes of all, and they will be putty for the Hitler called Gun Control. Already, if you are licensed to carry a gun, you are forbidden to lend it to someone just for a moment that could save a life, and people have died because of this. And nations have fallen one after the other, throughout the world.

This gets close to the critical reason Ron Paul has to get in. Only he understands. We must get others burning over the thing only he of all candidates understands. It is imperative that we focus the present crisis/opportunity so we finally break out of the left-right-truth-trap. No matter how right-on any candidate may be in this respect, none will ever get total agreement on each and every policy. Regardless of policies per se, we even need to let someone in whose policies we may not entirely agree with, if such a candidate actually understands that Ron understands and none of the others understand. That's the rough part of the axe that we need to polish sharp as a razor so people will understand the real issue.

Big George Washington warned against having political parties at all! Who has listened? How many people think we have a two-party system? The vast majority. Where in the Constitution is such a system set forth? Nowhere! Look how fooled we are! Zombies under near-total mind control! We must end this state of delusion or it will kill us.
