Re: UTI's and Psoriasis

Hi!
I have been macro for almost 4 years and was vegan previously just like you. I have had chronic skin problems since childhood and can tell you the macrobiotics has helped 100%. The only times I ever have skin troubles now is when I occasionally go off the diet with too many sweets, etc on vacation, holidays.... I know that although it may sound strange, for dry skin like psoriasis, one of the best remedies is cutting oil out of your diet for at least 2-3 months and gradually adding it back in later. Saute your veggies in water for the time being, skip the tahini sauces for the most part and avoid tofu (soybeans have the highest oil content for legumes). Also add Hato Mugi to your diet. Add a 1/4 cup to your rice and cook it together.

For the UTIs a great remedy is Cornsilk Tea. Alvita sells it in teabag form. Make each cup double strength with 2 tea bags and have 2 or 3 cups a day. It work quickly for me and I was very happy! Also, eating an umeboshi plum every other day helps to kill infection.

Good luck and hope my advice is helpful!
