Gee,
Every front has its back. Gary I know has worked very hard to create both this site and the store. At least all of us all over the world can take an amazing amount of wealth from this site, and also enjoy the products from the store than can be downloaded (the Macrobiotics Today magazine, e-courses). And as I had posted, in today's world, where so many travel, there are possible solutions with friends coming and going.
Exporting and Importing are very complicated businesses - I know - we've tried, which doesn't mean we will give up, but that there are great challenges for those involved in the business. otoh, we need to learn to take advantage of what is local. For myself personally, I am trying to spread the growing of kale here - it's not commonly known, and amongst the mb community, very much missed and loved. There are now a few commercial growers growing it and selling it. In the ladder of commercialism, I don't even want to climb aboard (personal reasons) but I have been trying to find other gardeners, home gardeners like me, and those growing on a larger scale, and spreading those seedlings and seeds that have grown in my small area.
In our community, we have a health food store that is trying to spread out - on a personal level they are able to purchase such products as koji, and have been preparing amasake for the community. That also is one small step.
We also have people in the area that produce tofu, and tempeh.
If you read stories of Michio's beginnnings, they were also difficult - but he preservered. He realized how crucial his work was. And look how it has developed!!!!!
Gee, I see you live in Thailand. Was it to you I already posted about my good friend David Nissim? He has dreams of one day realizing a huge macro centre, to attract people from all over the world. You can reach him at
d_cameleon@hotmail.com. He's coming to visit Israel soon and I'll ask how his dream is going. In the meanwhile, I'll ask him where he gets all his macro products. What I do know is that he has shared with us that Thailand has an amazing choice of greens and people, at least in his village, eat very fresh, cook new every day.
