Yin/Yo(Yang)
From the book by Aveline Kushi, "The northern side of the mountains toward the sea and Matsue is called San-Yin (Yin Mountain). The southern side toward Hiroshima is call San-Yo (Yang Mountain). Yo is the ancient word for yang. In Chinese, yin originally meant the cloudy, dark, cold side of a peak, and yang referred to the sunny, bright, shining side. In the natural beauty of the mountains and forests, the fields and streams, we intuitively experienced yin and yang, the primordial energies of the universe."
Ying/Yang - black and white halves of a circle - seems to present good and bad. Is this true? Or just opposites?
