Soy milk is soy that is highly processed. I believe that it is quite Yin. MB tries to stay as close to unrefined as possible. Most soy used in MB is tofu, tempeh, miso, shoyu/tamari, etc...soy products made via fermenation and minimally refined.

I suspect that using soy milk in the heat of the summer is better than in the winter if you must use it at all.

I occasionally use rice milk (couple times a month) when I desire something 'creamy'. My favorite is amazake, a fermented rice drink that has a naturally sweet taste.
