Re: Anyone else?

Ruby,

difficult, yes, impossible, that depends on how much you plan ahead of time. I went for a week's time to Hungary, but was very lucky as we had rented a great little apt, with kitchen facilities. I pre-bagged my grains and beans (measured and cleaned them) and brought a few condiments and a small amount of vegetables to get me going through the first days. also made sushi rolls for trip and first meals. And of course, the first place I visited was the huge outdoor market that's famous there. I think I ate better there than at home because didn't have distractions keeping me from cooking. And because it was so well planned out.

Another VERY dedicated couple I know also pack up loads of food, plus camping stoves and cooks in the hotel room, even tho it's not allowed. Shhhh, don't tell anyone.

Also there really are macro people all over the world, tho sometimes hard to find - and sometimes vegetarian (and even mb) restaurants. That takes real investigative work ahead of time, to post everywhere (there are other mb sites, too) and to look in the mb guides for people where they might share a meal with you and you make friends at the same time.

But yes, going to a regular restaurant usually messes me up too, so the next day I try to be quite strict.

The minimum is to bring some dried vegetables and miso and make some kind of a soup - almost all restaurants will give you hot water (ok, ask for tea and hold the teabag) or have something to boil water in in the room. Once when desparate I asked the waiter to bring me extra parsley and tried to seep it - well, I gave myself points for trying -

No place like home, huh?? Anyway no use being guilty over the past. What's stopping you right now? How is now different than from than from 1 1/2 years ago? Jump back in the water, it's lovely.
