Transitioning to Macrobiotics/Post Pregnancy

Hi everyone,
I have started on my path of macrobiotic eating in an attempt to lose about 60 lbs of post pregnancy weight. Although my sweetheart is now 14 months my whole system has radically changed and I can't get the weight off which is really affecting my ability to control my Type 2 diabetes without medication.
ANYWAY...my question is on the Kushi Institute site, they mention that soymilk and soybeans are recommended foods but on a site called Alchemysomething those are listed as "foods to avoid". Also, how often should I eat fish and could you give me an example of your typical daily menu and portion size? Everything is given in percentage and I find that a different approach to portion control.
thanks
