Do you know this to be true (can you recount your past life experiences) or do you take it to be a fact based on your faith?

*I know this from personal experience both in dreams and in contemplations/meditations. But mostly these are private things and often to discuss them comes across as boasting and the like. Mainly if anyone is interested in these types of things I would only recommend they follow their interest within whatever path or religion is right for them right now.

It amazes me how much attachment people have to the past and their future and so little to the present.

*Agreed. Often we hear of people who will speak about how they were Kings and Queens and famous people in their past lives. But in this life? They are not Kings or Queens or "famous." We often do not hear about lives where people where Slave owners, murderers, or were spent working in a menial job etc etc. The key like you've stated from my pov (for whatever that is worth to others) is the present. The other extreme is people who are always thinking about the future. Somewhere in between is a middle way. For me, to have had direct experience with past lives has enabled me to have a better understanding about who I am, that is, not this body but something more, call this "something more" Soul, or energy or whatever, but definately not this body that will get old and die and certainly something that will continue on indefinately.

Is past and future compared to the present, yin or yang?

Thank you, very much.

With warm regards, love, and peace,

*I'd say yes because often our thoughts and actions of the past create our present and our thoughts and actions in the present moment create our future. Within the scope of this, is the dualistic nature of things here on earth, Yin or Yang. Everything eventually changes to its opposite. A good skill to acquire, if possible, is to stay balanced when extremes of any kind will need to be harmonized or brought once again into Yin or Yang equilibrium.
