RC: I would agree with this as well (as long as we continue to
equate soul with energy). When the body ages (or diseases) to a state where it can no longer activate and heart, brain and other organs and systems shut down we call this point "death"
("lacking vitality"). Ch'i, energy, soul, etc. then transforms to something else. Gross body parts then decay (into soil) and transform into something else -- that is, its chemical components are utilized by other living organisms. The offspring of the deceased (childen) carry the parents DNA energy imprint within them, along with images the parent witnessed through his/her life on the planet (whether the child realizes this or not). Hence,
the legacy of energy/soul does not die but is continuously transformed.
In and of itself this realm of thinking is uniform in its logic and rationale. But then there emerges the more metaphysical idea of anthropomorphism, that is, when energy/soul is viewed as having the ability to "think, reason, visualize, and communicate" It is at this station where half of the world's population gets off,
mostly the scientists and philosophers, but it also here, at this junction where the theologists and occultists get on. Each camp can argue their case until they are blue in the face, but ultimately it doesn't matter -- for with them or without them balance will continue in the universe. At this station there is no shoving, not who is right and who is wrong. Only differences in opinions which must be respected. To attempt to change someones belief system is tantamount to forcing them to eat foods outside of their environment in a season foreign to them.
