Re: Toxic Water ?
I think water filtration is something everyone should consider. Municipal supplies usually have chlorine, fluoride and hundreds of other contaminants in them.
For people on a tight budget, it is affordable to start with a water filter pitcher or faucet mount. But in the long run, countertop/undersink and whole house are usually cheaper per gallon. Take the cost of the unit and divide by the gallons the filter cartridge is good for. I have been very disappointed in the short filter life of popular filters such as Brita or Pur.
Reverse osmosis is not necessary unless you know you have nitrates. Nitrates are common in rural areas. Reverse osmosis also wastes a lot of water.
It is just as important to use a shower filter as chemicals are absorbed through the skin pores and hot showers cause chemicals to vaporize, rise and enter through inhaling.
