Re: mucous and morning porridge
I find that oats as porridge really doesn't like me much these days. It sits in my stomach - and feels lik a brick! even if I mix in a little bit with other grains. and even with lots of chewing - though that helps a bit. Though if I have oats in the morning I find I am much less hungry the rest of the day. It even happens if I roll or crack the oats myself!
So I tend to have rice or millet or buckwheat either as a drier grain or as a porridge. Which is a pity because it is such a nice grain!
