Re: wonderful Umeboshi plums

Janet,

Umeboshi plums are indeed wonderful. They are so powerful, that they are usually used as a remedy, not everyday, but you could try it.

Eating an umeboshi plum will stop any kind of nausea within minutes.

At this time of the year, umeboshi paste spread on hot corn-on-the-cob, is especially delicious.

Plums or paste make good salad dressings (blanched) with a few other ingredients.

Umeboshi plums are an aquired taste (quickly). My mom is not macrobiotic and could not believe the taste when she first had one. I love them. I am in good company with Christina Aguillara, who lived in Japan for many of her formative years, and ate umeboshi plums. She loves them. She brought a plate of umeboshis on the set of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, stuck with toothpicks. Jay tried one, and while Christina turned her head, threw it in a plant.

People don't know what they're missing.

Sure, pop a whole plum. Delicious.

Nancy
