I don't know how practical it would be to make everything free, hendrik!
Counselors have to make a living, summer camps have to pay for food and rent. Publishers have to pay for paper, writers and editors have to make a living.
That said, I think as much as possible ought to be free. There should be plenty of lending libraries, work study options and scholarships.
