Elizabeth,

I'm sorry, but I have no children at this time but I'd still like to help.

I feel that the first thing you must ask is "Am I going to explain why I choose not to have my children vaccinated from a macrobiotic/holistic point of view or a mainstream scientific viewpoint?"

If your family-parents, in-laws, etc. have enough of an understanding of macrobiotics or holism (or are receptive to learning these perspectives) then it shouldn't be difficult to explain how you've come to your decision(s).

But if your family-parents, in-laws, etc., are not supportive of macrobiotics or holistic approaches to healing, then you got a lot of work ahead of you.

There's a war of words taking place presently between the pro- and anti-vaccine movements, and if you are not careful, you could get involved in some very heated arguments with people who are pro-vaccine.

If I were you I would not only familiarize myself with the anti-vaccine movements arguements but also the pros.

Here's a good place to start exploring the anti-vaccine movement:

Welcome to...Health Hazards of Vaccines: Support Groups
( http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.co...upport_org.htm )

And heres a good and ugly pro site:

Anti-vaccination Liars

Also check out the August 2001 Consumer Reports article:
"Vaccines:An issue of trust".

Consumer Reports is also online at:
( http://www.consumerreports.org/ ) but don't expect to find this article there until sometime later this summer.

The August issue may not have reached the store shelves, yet, but keep looking.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, very much.
