Re: mastitis (breast infections)

Also, nisha, Gale jack who has had some difficulty logging on to Cybermacro (she tells me that she will try again when she has more time, what with a daughter, grandson, husband, and household requiring so much of her attention, now a days) but this is her response:

"Breast infections in general occur when the discharge of yin foods from the breast doesn't go smoothly.* This can be caused by taking in excess yin (foods that women seem to love) such as soft dairy (milk, *yogurt, whipped cream,* etc. along with rice dream, rice milk, soymilk, sugar, chocolate, honey, maple syrup, refined flour products, excess oil, raw salads, (& dressings made with raw oil, fruit, fruit juices, soft drinks, etc. and also by taking in excess salt and minerals that hold the yin in or make you crave it more. All kinds of supplements can also contribute.
*
To remedy, ume-sho-kuzu drinks are helpful as they bring the energy down to be discharged from the body...along with eliminating exceas much as possible.* Cooked fruits should be ok."

Gale also says that her husband Alex (and Michio Kushi) might have a companion volume to The Macrobiotic Path to Total Health: A Complete Guide to Preventing and Relieving More Than 200 Chronic Conditions and Disorders Naturally http://www.kushiinstitute.org/store/...g/welcome.html that focuses on family health, including guidelines for pregnant women and also women's and children's health issues, published in the near future.

In the meantime, you may want to visit their website: Amberwaves http://www.amberwaves.org/ to find out about their other activities and publications.

Thank you, very much.
