Re: achilies tendon problems

Wilson,

Quick recommendations are regular ginger baths for the feet. Yoga exercises to stretch and strengthen the achilles tendon. And you might want to see a Shiatsu massage practitioner and/or a local macrobiotic counselor.

For any chronic condition lessening your enjoyment of life, the macrobiotic diet is recommended. The healing diet is 50-60% whole grains, 5-10% soups, 20-30% vegetables, 5% small beans such as adukis, lentils, and chickpeas or black soybeans, sea vegetables 5% or less, condiments: gomashio, kelp or wakame powder, umeboshi plum and tekka, etc. Avoid animal food, fruit, sweets and desserts, nuts and nut butters. Use unrefined sea salt, shoyu, and miso in moderation. Avoid mirin and garlic. Bancha tea is recommended as the main drink.

After relief of symptoms, the Standard Macrobiotic Diet can be implemented, which allows more variety in food choices.

Hope this helps,

Nancy
