Regarding the 10 Day Brown Rice Diet...
lighthouse25,
My main concern about the fast for people new to macrobiotics is that unless one has been eating a lot of rice and rice digesting fermented foods (like miso, shoyu, tamari, and also pickles) for at least six months, then one might not have developed the intestinal bacteria that is devoted to digesting brown rice.
Doing a fast of eating anthing that your system is really not used to could cause more problems than benefits.
Also, In the past there have been persons who went straight into the fast shortly after starting macrobiotics and had massive discharges including body pain, headaches and the lot, becauce of stuff that the had stored in their tissues that came out suddenly and some of those people couldn't stand the discharges and had to get doctors help and medication, and many left macrobiotics.
That is why I feel that if for most people new to macrobiotics, that they should take it easy .
"Rome was not built in a day!"
Does what I say make any sense to you?
Thank you, very much.
