Planning Sea Veg Harvest Outing in RI

This will be the 4th year that I am coordinating an event with Roy Collins of Rhode Island for this event.
This message is to solicit interest in participating and feedback for dates.
PLEASE RESPOND SOON IF YOU HAVE SOME INTEREST IN PARTICIPATING, SO WE CAN MAKE A PLAN. SEE QUESTIONS AT BOTTOM OF MESSAGE.

The event would consist of:
1) Roy will guide us in a Seaweed Identification lesson, wading in the waters at Jamestown
Island,
Rhode Island (near Newport)
2) Preparing sea veg miso soup on the shore using veggies you
harvested,
along with potluck lunch.
Roy Collins is an I Ching scholar, and author of book "Fire
Over Heaven" about the I Ching and yin/yang theory.
He was formerly on the staff of the George Ohsawa Macrobiotic
Foundation and worked with Herman Ahaira. He has practiced macrobiotics for 35
years, is a tai chi master and herbalist, and a 2x cancer survivor. Currently Roy
is also moderator of a macrobiotic discussion forum on www.cybermacro.com
This is a VERY WONDERFUL thing to do: to walk in the shallow ocean waters on the rocks, get assistance by an expert in identifying and harvesting sea vegetables, cooking and eating some right there, and taking some home! Roy is very knowledgable and friendly, a wealth of information and inspiration about energetics of plants and macrobiotic practice.

Possible dates to do this:
-Saturday, June 28
-During the following week, Mon, Tues, or Wed. I know there are a few folks like me who are not working or have flexible schedules that could do such a thing on a WEEKDAY.

PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL ME OR ROY A.S.A.P. to express if you have interest and availability for either of these time possiblities.

AND if you have any particular ideas about organizing this. In the past, we have made it a camping weekend at a nearby campground, with other shared activities. We could camp out again, coordinate some other hike, carpool from Boston or wherever for just a day trip, make a visit to Newport also.
Time of day to be at the island would depend on the timing of low tide, which Roy will be investigating.
This needs to happen before weather gets hot, since lots of the plants are in peak season now.
Be Well!
-Rick Frank
