He researched this and found micro meridians that worked as mirror images of the body’s meridian system. He called his system of treatment Koryo Hand Therapy, KHT.
Su means hand and Jok means foot. The theory behind Su Jok was published for the first time in 1987. Originally Su Jok was only concerned with ways to activate the therapeutic effect on the body by hand and foot correspondences. Later on, Park Jae Woo succeeded in working out a well-balanced system of metaphysical knowledge with similar mirror images of the meridians as in KHT although their locations are different. In Su Jok, the reflection of the meridians are called “byol meridians”. Byol means “special”.
In 1989 Park Jae Woo founded the Korean Su Jok Academy, then in 1993 he expanded his academy into Russia where he found a very fruitful cooperation with a group of Russian medical doctors. In Moscow he founded International Su Jok Academy. In Russia and some of the neighboring countries Park and his students were able to demonstrate the effectiveness of Su Jok and this helped to raise the procedure to an official medical status which is now recognized in many of the former Soviet republics.
Park Jae Woo got the title of Consulting Professor of the Institute for Doctors Advanced Training in the republic of Kazakhstan. Later he also became Visiting Professor to the Somaya Medical College and Zoroastrian College of India.Today Su Jok is very well known in Russia, Eastern Europe and India. It is also gaining an increasing popularity in Western Europe, Mexico, Libya and other countries Differences between KHT and Su Jok:

My own Story:
In my clinic today I use mainly Su Jok and shiatsu and I think they complement each other very nicely. I find shiatsu better for general relaxation, stimulation of the immune defense and problems with the body structures, for instance back pain. Su jok is more effective when I know the problem very precise, like specific organs or parts of organs. It is also effective on systemtic problems like eczema, diabetes, mental problems and malabsorption.
Editor’s Note: Dr. Enborg also practices macrobiotics and is the director of the Macrobiotic Association in Stockholm, Sweden. If you are interested in learning more about Su Jok therapy please feel free to contact Bo at the following email address: Replies: 1 Comment all the articles relating to su-jok were interesting and comprehensive. but there is not a single site which would show with pictures the points on the hand and feet. i would like to see the points corresponding to the organs of the body to effect cure. is there a cure for diabetes in this system of care?? looking forward to your reply.
