On 12-28-05, on the newscasts in the evening came all the benefits of using Vitamin D to be a possible vitamin to prevent cancer. Whereupon, my heart sank imagining how many would speed over to the Health Food Store to buy it, or start using more milk, or the "milks" sold in the health food markets that contain it as well, ie the soy and almond milks just to name a couple examples.
Back in the middle 70's when a M.D. friend of mine wrote about the dangers of using Vitamin D as a supplemental that was used in mainly milk products. Dr. Moon wrote his book entitled "A Macrobiotic Explanation of Pathological Calcification" at that time also. In the meantime, I want to direct you to Dr. Jym Moon's article as printed in the November/December 2003 issue of Macrobiotics Today so you can read for yourself to use as a tool for expressing my dismay at hearing the news on 12-28 because of the love I have for my friends and family members, and the images I have of all the little children whose bodies would be set up for pathologies which would seem to have no explanation that would lead them down the path of long and painful medical intervention.

Not that I am a fan of vitamin pills, but it is simple minded to say that Vit. D can be gotten from sunshine and that\'s it. In more northerly areas, we don\'t get all that much sunshine during the winter.

Further, if one\'s body is not functioning perfectly - and that is probably nearly everybody - then the conversion process necessary to make the Vitamin D usable can\'t occur. That is the way I see it.
Great Article!

This is a very very interesting article. Especially since this vitamin D issue has been swimming around in my head lately.

Thank you for this article! I just took my very first dose of 50,000IU Vitamin D yesterday. My doctor told me to take one of these per week to increase my low Vitamin D levels. I was reluctant. I will not take the rest. I am healthy otherwise.

Your article came at a critical time! Thank you!
